The Heritage Tree voting panel met last week (week of 10/19/2022) and I’m happy to share with you that the Garden of Eden Pecans have been awarded Heritage Tree status. The panel really focused on the important history of the site and the ties that the pecans have to the neighborhood. The anecdote of using pecan money for Christmas gifts was especially sweet.
The announcement, along with two other trees elsewhere, will be made at Fort Worth’s Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, November 4th at 10:10 am inside the Southwest Regional Branch Library (4001 Library Ln—off S Hulen St).
